The process of getting your teeth whitened can be relatively quick depending on the type of treatment you choose.
All of our teeth whitening procedures are tailored to your specific needs. Typically, the process will be as follows:
Initial consultation
We’ll speak to you about your needs and expectations, as well as assess your current oral health, and determine your suitability for whitening. We may well take photos of your teeth before performing a 3D scan of your teeth and gums.
Cleaning
Any plaque or tartar can affect the efficacy of your whitening, so we advise having your teeth professionally cleaned for the best teeth whitening results. We can arrange this.
Starting the whitening treatment
Depending on which of our three whitening treatments you go for, you will be given a whitening fit appointment which may be as straight forward as checking the whitening trays fit, and demonstrating how to use the whitening gel before allowing you home to perform this at your own leisure, or if you have chosen the Phillips Zoom system the whitening fit appointment will consist of us applying the gel to the teeth before then you complete the treatment at home at your own pace.
Waiting and evaluation
If you are undergoing the Phillips Zoom whitening treatment, there will be a waiting period for the ‘in chair’ whitening to take effect. This can take up to an hour.
After any whitening work your teeth and gums may be sensitive, so we’ll give you instructions on dealing with this and aftercare advice to maintain your pearly whites, before you finish the procedure off yourself at home in approximately 3-5 days.
At-home maintenance
For those undergoing at-home treatment, we’ll provide you with custom-fitted trays and whitening gel for even whiter whites, or at-home touch-ups. This is true for our Professional take home whitening and our Enlighten Evo4 whitening.

For all treatments over £350 at Bamboo Dental we have 0% APR interest monthly plans up to 18 months available for you for treatments over £500. Up to 12 months interest free with no deposit. The 18 months interest free option is available with a 15% deposit. If you wish to have the 24-month option with no deposit, the monthly repayments would be at 5.9% APR or 7.9% APR. Once you have seen us, and we have determined that you are dentally fit to have teeth whitening then it is a treatment that is suitable for most people.
It varies. There are a number of factors at play, for instance the ability of a person’s tooth to maintain whiteness, and the type of foods/drinks an individual consumes.
