E-Max Veneers in Cardiff

The small but mighty heroes at our surgery, giving people confidence in their smiles across Wales and the rest of the UK. They’re one of our most popular choices for veneers, transforming smiles in a life changing way.

What are Emax Veneers?

Emax veneers are made from extremely thin but strong porcelain to give you every look you can imagine from a smile, from natural perfection to Hollywood bling! They bond super strongly to the tooth enamel and need very little tooth preparation. Unlike the dental tourism horror stories you see online.

These are a great way to cover single or multiple discoloured/irregular shaped teeth – anywhere from 4 to 10 veneers on the upper teeth works really well because these are the ones you see the most when you talk or smile. They’re super strong and durable and because they’ll keep your smile looking beautiful for longer, they’re a much more cost-effective option for you in the long run. So long as you look after them like you do your other teeth and see a dentist annually they will last you 10-15 years maybe longer.

They’re useful in many cosmetic dentistry cases, either where teeth are damaged, mildly misaligned, or unevenly spaced, and can completely transform a smile.

How much are Emax Veneers UK?

We fit Emax veneers for £625 per tooth (to a minimum of two teeth). We make this more affordable for you by offering 0% interest so you can get the smile you’ve wanted more affordably.

Are Emax Veneers worth it?

Ask any of our satisfied patients and you’ll surely get a resounding yes! Emax veneers can visibly transform a smile, bringing newfound confidence and an aesthetic look that’ll leave you unable to stop smiling. Can you put a price on that?

Do you need to shave teeth for Emax?

Teeth do need shaving for Emax, however this is one of their advantages as the level of shaving required is often less than for other types of veneers. Some veneers require drilling the teeth into peg shapes, and Emax overcomes this, requiring smaller amounts of shaving.

Can Emax veneers chip?

Emax veneers are made from a porcelain material which is known for its strength, but this doesn’t mean that veneers are unbreakable. Care should be taken when playing contact sports, for example, and generally, some things should be avoided such as cutting tape with your teeth, chewing on pens, and other things which would be bad for teeth, and are even worse for veneers.

Why choose Bamboo Dental for your Emax veneers in Cardiff?

We’re happiest when you’ve got a huge, confident smile on your face. Read some comments from our customers below:

Who is suitable for having Emax Veneers fitted?

We’ll assess your suitability for Emax veneers during your initial consultation, but they aren’t suitable for everyone, depending on your oral health and the severity of any issues with your teeth. Some of the things we’ll be looking for include:

Amount of previous dental work to the teeth: Sometimes a tooth or teeth you feel need veneering already have crowns on them. If this is the case then the Emax veneer will need to be made into an Emax crown on this particular tooth instead.

Poor overall oral health
Getting veneers fitted can involve changes to your mouth which require your teeth and gums to be in stable condition. If your basic oral health isn’t up to scratch, or you have other issues, you might need to address these before having veneers fitted. This usually involves seeing the dental hygienist for a scale and polish.

Teeth grinding or clenching
If you suffer from this, Emax will still be suitable but we may need to alter the way in which your teeth come together at the same time as placing your Emax veneers. Teeth-clenching can place significant stress and pressure on your teeth so we need to make sure the stresses are reduced so the veneers last a long time.

Bad habits
Such as nail biting or pen chewing can mean that there’s a chance your veneers will be damaged over time. We usually find that once someone has had veneers placed they feel a significant need to look after them by altering any bad habits.

Each case is individual so we’ll consult with you after assessing your teeth and mouth to determine your suitability for Emax.

How do E-Max Veneers work?

Book a free consultation so that our dentists can talk you through the process. We will make sure that you first understand all there is to know about wearing a new smile with Emax veneers. If you decide to go ahead with treatment, we’ll take x-rays, photographs and a 3D digital scan of your teeth and gums. We will also talk to you about the different options when it comes to tooth shape and shade. After this we send the scans and photos to our ceramic laboratory where they will firstly design a new smile digitally before then 3D printing this new smile out for us and you to see.

We will make temporary veneers from this new smile design and try them on your teeth for you to see. So long as you are happy we will then ask our ceramic laboratory to make the Emax veneers. If you want to change anything about the new smile design this can be done before the veneers are made.

Four weeks later, your cosmetic dentist will fit your veneers. We’ll try them on first to make sure they fit well and look good, then each veneer will be bonded one by one. It takes roughly 2 hours to fit 10 veneers. After they are fitted you can begin to enjoy your new smile. We will arrange a review appointment to make sure you are getting on with them ok, and to make sure the mouth is clean and comfortable.

Caring for your smile once your Emax Veneers have been fitted

Once you’ve had your Emax veneers fitted, you’ll want to keep checking out your new smile and enjoy it for as long as possible! At the end of your treatment, there are a few things you can do to keep your veneers in tip-top condition:

– Maintaining good oral hygiene is key to this – In the morning, mouthwash with a stain removing mouthwash like UltraDex or CB12, and brush with a regular fluoride containing toothpaste for 2 minutes. No need to use a whitening toothpaste. Use a good electric toothbrush like the Phillips Sonicare Diamond-Clean series, or Oral B iO series.

In the evening, mouthwash as above, but before you brush floss your mouth to remove the debris that sits tightly between your teeth.

– Emax is strong and very resistant to stains but it’s best you avoid biting into anything that’s not food, and best avoid super hard things like boiled sweets and candy canes. You can consume turmeric and drink tea/coffee/red wine but remember to be good at the cleaning as discussed above.

– Smoking is never good for you or your oral health and should be avoided.

– Wearing a nightguard if advised by us or your dentist

– not using teeth to open packages, bottles etc will ensure a good bond, and protect your Emax from damage.

– Keeping up regular dental checkups, and letting your dentist know of any problems will help address any issues early on. Visiting a hygienist annually is recommended.

Alternatives to Emax Veneers

Emax porcelain veneers are a popular procedure for their strength, durability, and natural appearance, but they’re not suitable for everyone. If Emax isn’t right for you, consider composite veneers: These generally require less tooth reduction and can be more affordable, and repairable than Emax.

They are, however, generally less durable, and more prone to staining. They are also not as natural looking as porcelain/emax veneers.

Whichever treatment you choose depends on several factors including your personal goals and oral health. We’ll work with you to get the results you need.
