Dental veneers are THE option for that bespoke or perfect smile, gentle on the teeth and life-changing for all who have them fitted. Completely transformative.
Depending on your preferences you may either decide to have porcelain veneers (Emax) or composite veneers. If you choose porcelain then you will need to consider which laboratory you want to use. Don’t worry, we’ll talk you through all options.
Dental veneers are thin layers of porcelain or resin placed on the front teeth to improve their look. They fix issues like discoloration, chips, misalignment, or gaps, creating a natural and striking smile quickly.
Veneers combine durability with stunning results. Composite veneers last 5-8 years, while porcelain ones can shine for up to 15 years before replacements are needed. The process may require a tiny bit of enamel to be smoothed. However, veneers offer a lasting way to enhance your smile and boost your confidence for years to come.
With composite veneers, enamel smoothing is often unnecessary, making the procedure reversible in some cases. The treatment is safe and gentle, and any mild sensitivity typically disappears within days—helping you achieve your ideal smile comfortably and with peace of mind.
Veneers need care just like natural teeth—brush twice daily, floss regularly, and schedule routine dental check-ups and visits to the hygienist for polishing. While porcelain veneers resist stains, composite resin may require extra attention. During your consultation, we’ll answer all your questions to help you maintain a confident, radiant smile.

Bio I first completed a biomedical science degree at Cardiff University in 2011 before coming back to study dentistry and graduating in 2017.
I also completed a certificate in restorative dentistry and that’s where I developed an interest in periodontology. I joined Bamboo in 2023 on Fridays to look after teeth whitening and general dentistry treatments.
“One very happy girl who now loves to smile with her teeth! Sam was amazing from start to finish. He helped me and advised what treatment would work best in order to achieve my desired look!”

From porcelain to composite resin, there are several types of veneers available meaning that understanding the pros and cons of each can be confusing.
At Bamboo, we work around our patients, not the other way around. So we’re here to help and support you choose the most effective option for your teeth. We’re founded on the premise that everyone should have the opportunity to show pride in their smile!
That’s why we’re open six days a week, offer affordable payment plans, and try to remove any barrier to treatment for our patients. This has made us Cardiff’s most chosen, most trusted, and most awarded provider of dental veneers, with 1000+ TrustPilot reviews. Our treatments are driven by what our patients want and then delivered by our expert cosmetic dentists according to top-notch leading edge principles of dental science.
Veneers are for people who are looking to change the shape, length, or size of their teeth.
They are placed on top of your existing teeth, like a strong false fingernail.
Our cosmetic veneers (Emax porcelain and composite) are best suited to people who already have straight teeth. This means that only a minimum amount of preparation is needed.
You can have as many as you want; but we do a minimum of two veneers.
Most of our patients will go for 8 or 10 veneers per arch. These are usually the teeth that you show when you smile.
Sometimes you can have four or six too, but we would rarely do the full mouth as the back teeth often don’t need veneers.
If you’re thinking Turkey teeth then no, that’s not what we do.
Thanks to the developments in the materials of our veneers, the porcelain is incredibly robust and thin. This means that we only need a minimal amount of preparation.
We ensure that you and your teeth are healthy before placing the veneers.
In general, composite veneers require more maintenance than porcelain Emax veneers.
With composite veneers, we advise our patients that they not only need to maintain good dental hygiene but also need a yearly check-up and scale and polish with your own hygienist.
You also need to be careful with what you eat and drink with composite veneers to avoid staining or chipping them.
Porcelain veneers are relatively straightforward to look after. Good oral hygiene is a must – flossing, using mouthwash, and brushing (in that order).
Unlike composite veneers, porcelain Emax veneers don’t stop you from eating anything, except from hard boiled sweets, candy canes and sticks of rock.
We fit dental veneers from £380 per tooth at Bamboo Cosmetic Dentistry, as well as offering payment plans to spread the cost. We generally recommend applying veneers to two teeth as a minimum – subject to age and status, minimum spend applies.
Dental veneers can instantly transform a smile, radically changing the aesthetics of teeth. While costs can vary depending on the material used for the veneers, the life-changing impact of a great, confident smile can be priceless. Whether you’re looking for minor corrections, or a whole-mouth overhaul, consider how much you’d value a great white smile.
The fitting of veneers involves some contouring to the tooth enamel meaning that once fitted, they need to be worn for life. This is especially true of porcelain veneers. The benefits far outweigh the downsides from the range of dental issues they can address, the huge improvement in self-confidence we see from so many of our patients, and so much more that a great smile adds to your life.
We can offer you E-Max veneers which can be fitted as either in the traditional way or as ‘same day’ First Fit veneers, removing the need to wear temporary veneers whilst the final ones are made. Emax is high quality and ultra-thin porcelain, perfect for veneers. We also offer composite veneers, which are less expensive and often require less tooth contouring. To find out more, visit our veneers page or call us to chat to one of our team.
Yes, our Emax veneers are hand painted by the lab so the options are endless. You will be shown a range of shades from which you can choose from – from natural to whiter than white.
